Sasha Wants to Serve Ukrainians
I was born in Ukraine in 2001 and became a US citizen before the Russian invasion of my home country. Because of my attachment to my birth country, I have a deep passion to help the people suffering there because of this unjust war. With your help, I will be able to provide funds to help Ukrainian humanitarian workers and to travel within Ukraine for 2 weeks helping to build a house for a war refugee family, work in a summer camp for displaced children, and feed needy people in a To Ukraine with Love hot meal center.
GOAL: $4,000
My roundtrip airfare to Ukraine has already been covered through previous fundraising efforts and I am hoping to raise an additional $4000 which will be donated to the To Ukraine with Love Non-Profit to be used to support humanitarian work as follows:
- $3,000 to support ongoing services provided by To Ukraine with Love in Ukraine.
- $1,000 to cover my travel expenses within Ukraine, facilitating my humanitarian work as described above.
Sasha's Background
When Ukraine was invaded in February 2022, I was sent home within days from my LDS mission in the Baltics. My heart ached for the people that were suffering in Ukraine and many others who had been displaced. Having lived in the Baltics for almost a year, I met, taught, and interacted with many Ukrainians. This was such a blessing to me because I have had a special connection to Ukraine my whole life. I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and lived there until I was 5 years old.
Through this two-week humanitarian trip, I want to give back to the people and the culture that has so deeply influenced my life and the person that I am today. By helping build a house, running a summer camp, and delivering meals, I hope to bring some joy and hope into these people’s lives, and to ease some of the suffering that they have endured for so long. Any donation is greatly appreciated, and all funds will be used solely for this humanitarian trip. Thank you for your support, it means the world to me!

Building Homes
Other days, I will be assisting local builders in clearing and preparing lots where homes were destroyed. Then I will help build the home onsite. It will give me the opportunity to see the home from clearing to completion including furnishing the home and preparing it to be gifted.
The highlight of the trip would be gifting that house to a family that has lost theirs. Seeing the emotions of that family and giving them the hope back will be worth the entire trip.
Leading Summer Program for Children
I also will be leading classes for children of a village that was destroyed in the early days of the war. Camp gives children who have suffered tragedy time to just be kids. Interacting with friends from another country shows them that their suffering is recognized and validated.
Serving Hot Meals
During this trip, I will serve up to 1,000 people in To Ukraine With Love Hot Meals Center in Chuhuiv. Deliver meals to a hospital assisting those who have been wounded by war. Spend time speaking with those who feel they have been forgotten by the West. Bring hope and compassion to a village destroyed by the Russians.
Help Me Help Ukraine
With your help, I can raise money to build homes and feed the people.
