Mariia Danylenko 14, female from Chernihiv

My name is Masha.I’m 14 years old.I live in a village Voznesenske near Chernihiv. I’m studying in grade 8 in the Voznesenske Secondary school. I live with mother, father and little sister. I like listening to music, walking with my friends and skateboarding. Rap is my favorite genre of music. I prefer Chief Keef ,2Pac and many others. I love to walk with my dog in the evening near the lake. I don’t like to stay at home with my friends. We enjoy walking outside and often stay at each other’s place. At school I don’t study very well but don’t very bad. I don’t like Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography because it’s very boring for me. I like P.E, Ukrainian literature, World literature, English, and History. For me it’s easy and interesting. My parents say «You should study better» but I don’t think that my marks is bad. On the holidays I with my family spend time together. We like to go to the Carpathian mountains. There’s clean air and very beautiful nature.

It’s not hot in summer and there’s a lot of snow in winter and you can ski. But since the war started, we didn’t go there anymore. On February 24, 2022, the war began and we left our city. The war interrupted all our plans. We did not know whether we would return to the village because it was occupied by the Russians. We were very worried about our animals that remained there, about our home, about our village and about the people. The neighboring village suffered a lot. There were almost no houses left because they were destroyed by rockets. Many people died. Because of the war, I developed a fear of loud noises, and in the near future I will no longer be able to travel with my family as before.
