Give Ukrainian youth a break from the war and learn from their experience.

Why These Students

Since the war began in February 2022, the youth of Ukraine have lived in constant fear. They lost 4 years of in-class learning due to COVID and then the war. They have seen villages destroyed and family members and neighbors killed.

We have met these youth up-front and in person as we have gifted homes in destroyed villages. We see their destroyed schools and their torn-apart families.

In the midst of this crisis, we realized that these youth need a break and to be kids again. That is how the youth program was born—as a way to bring hope and relief.

Youth from Ukraine

Youth ages 14 to 18 currently enrolled in high schools in Ukraine are looking for the opportunity to learn and take a break from the horrors of war. These young people are selected by an extensive application and evaluation process. They all have English skills sufficient to go to high school.

Families in the US Can Help

Families can provide a loving and safe environment for the student, including room and board. Students may share a bedroom with one host sibling of the same gender and similar age. Students need a quiet place to study, some transportation, and guidance and support.

This experience is an opportunity for Ukrainian children to receive respite from the horrors of war. At the same time, they will bring a rich culture and tradition to your family as well. Students are excited to participate in family activities and become a part of the community. If you plan to go on vacation, consider taking the student with you. If that is not possible, please let Sue and Lina know.

Program Costs

Bringing youth from Ukraine in the midst of war has it’s complications. However, we have a team well-versed in youth travel programs (it was their business for 12 years). The cost to bring a youth to the US is $5,000. This pays for visas, transportation, and the support system in the US and in Ukraine.
