Darina Berezhna 16, female from Kharkiv
Profile
I hope you’re doing well, and thank you for considering me for this incredible opportunity!
My name is Darina, I’m 16 years old, and I live in the Kharkiv region, in the small village of Bezruky, just 20 km from the border. I live with my loving family—my mom, dad, twin sister, and our dogs. The war has strengthened our bond and reminded us to value every moment together.
I grew up surrounded by nature and have many warm memories of peaceful summers and snowy winters. When the war began, we lost electricity and water and had to relocate. I spent time in Poland with my mom and sister, adjusting to a new country, language, and schools—three in just six months! It was difficult, but I became stronger and more adaptable.
Now I’m back home, where life remains uncertain. The scariest part is never knowing what tomorrow will bring. Still, I try to hold onto hope and stay focused on the things I love.
One of my biggest passions is web design—I enjoy creating websites and user-friendly platforms. I’m also a freshman studying graphic design at the Kharkiv Vocational College of Technology and Design. Design is a big part of who I am, and I’d love to share more about it!
I enjoy learning languages too. I’ve worked hard on my English and recently started learning Korean. Maybe I could teach you a phrase or two—안녕하세요 means “Hello!” I also love doing home workouts; they help me stay grounded and healthy.
I believe I deserve this opportunity because my experiences have taught me resilience, shaped my perspective, and strengthened my desire to grow and connect with others. I’m excited to meet new people, explore a new culture, and share my story.
Thank you again for your time and consideration—I can’t wait to meet you!
