Help Volodymyr and Victoria Medvedev Find a permanent home at "Our People" Senior Center

Their Story

Victoria (75) and Volodymyr (85) once enjoyed a full life in Kherson. Their days were shaped by routine and the comfort of their home, which was filled with photographs and mementos of the years they had shared together. But when the occupation began, everything they had known was thrown into chaos.

In August 2022, they fled their city under pressure and fear, leaving behind their partially destroyed apartment. At first, they managed to rent housing, but their modest savings soon disappeared. By 2023, they were relocated to a shelter in Truskavets. For a time, the shelter brought some sense of relief, but even that security is slipping away as the program supporting it is being shut down.

Once again, they are left with nowhere to go. Their son and his family are also displaced, struggling to survive. For the Medvedevs, displacement has become a cruel cycle — one move after another, with no end in sight. And yet, despite the pain and uncertainty, they continue to cling to hope, determined to face each day with quiet strength.
