Help Anatoliy and Anna Abrosimov Find a permanent home at "Our People" Senior Center

Their Story

Anatoliy (73), an electrician, and Anna (75), a radio technician, spent decades working side by side and raising a family in Nikopol. Their city sits just five kilometers from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, making it a constant target. The sounds of drones, shelling, and explosions became their daily reality.

Windows shattered in their apartment, and nights were spent trembling as artillery thundered outside. They stayed as long as they could, even helping volunteers deliver aid,but eventually the danger became too great. Their daughter, with young children, had already fled to another region. Anatoliy and Anna followed, seeking shelter in Truskavets.

Though grateful for temporary safety, their time at the shelter is nearly up, and once again they face the terrifying question: where will we go? In their plea for help, the Abrosimovs reveal the unbearable truth of war for the elderly — lives built over decades erased in months, replaced by fear and displacement.
