They will stay on their land while they rebuild their lives

Family Story

Vladimir, together with his wife Alexandra and his father Pavel Vasilyevich (84 years old), had lived their entire lives in their large, cozy house. Vladimir was born in that house. When the war broke out, the whole family was at home. The bombings started immediately, and they took shelter in the basement. When it became unbearable and neighboring houses started to catch fire, Vladimir took his wife, father, dog, and cat. They waited for the Green Corridor and then left Irpen. The Green Corridor was open from 9th to 11th, and there was a huge line of cars. Vladimir remembers how, at the beginning of the 12th hour, the tail of the column, those who couldn’t leave Irpen in time, were shot by the Russians. Many people lost their lives. It took the family five days to reach Zakarpattia. There, they were taken in by acquaintances who provided them temporary shelter. Pavel Vasilyevich is a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and used to be the head of the police in Irpen. A few days after their relocation, he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. Due to his diabetes, surgery is not possible. Now, Pavel Vasilyevich’s greatest desire is to return to Irpen and pass away on his own land. However, there is absolutely nowhere to return. Vladimir lost his job, and he returned to Irpen where he was taken in by acquaintances. However, there is no way to bring his father and wife along. Due to the war, Vladimir lost his job, and they cannot afford to rent an apartment. They are still in Zakarpattia. The family pleads for a home to be provided to them.
