Konovalenko Family
Needs A Home
They will stay on their land while they rebuild their lives.
Family Story
Taras Yuriiovych Konovalenko, 36 years old, is fond of playing mini football and table tennis. His wife, Olga Vitaliivna Konovalenko, 31 years old, enjoys bead embroidery. They have two daughters: Anastasiia, 10 years old, who engages in sand painting, and Polina, 6 years old, who loves to sculpt figures from clay. Both girls dream of having bicycles.
Taras says, “Since 2010, I have been in military service while simultaneously building a house, which is now destroyed. We lived in it for five years. My wife takes care of the children, who go to school.”
During the first six months of the war, I was on duty all the time, and my wife and children rented a place in Zviahel. Later, an acquaintance offered his old house, and that’s where we live now.
My parents have passed away, and my wife’s mother also has no place to live. My father, a soldier, has been missing since February in Donetsk Oblast.
We live with the sense of our Victory, looking forward to returning to our village and starting anew. Our family always gathers at grandma’s for all the holidays; it’s like a tradition.
