Their Family Story
Natalia and Oleksandr live with Natalia’s mother, Neonila, who is 83 years old. The family’s house is at a crossroads. Their house became a shelter for the military at the beginning of the war. The family fed and kept our soldiers warm in the basement in their garage. One day, a fierce fight began right in their yard. The soldiers shouted for the family to run away. They did just that. It was March 4, and they never saw these soldiers again. The family wanted to thank those soldiers for telling them to run away in time, but their phones were turned off; there was no connection with them, and the family doesn’t know if they had survived. The family built their house with their own hands and lived there for 15 years. They found out that their house had been destroyed from the photos on social media. Upon returning, they lived a little with Oleksandr’s mother. Now they have moved into a rented apartment. Because of the rent, their money is scarce.
