Marchenko Vadim and Alena, along with their daughters Alexandra (12) and Alina (10), and Alena’s mother Sofia Petrovna, who is 64 years old, are currently living together in a garage. They left their village on March 6th, and prior to that, they had been living in a cellar, and then for nine days they lived in the basement of an agricultural firm. They had to leave under the threat of shelling. At first, they stopped in the Zhytomyr Oblast, and then went to the Ternopil Oblast. Anatoly, Sofia’s husband, was still alive at the time, and they went back to Zhytomyr Oblast to stay with Sofia’s friend.
On March 29th, Sofia’s niece called and told her their home had been destroyed. They returned on April 6th as soon as thee village was recaptured. They had an air mattress that they inflated and lived in a summer kitchen. Then they started to set up the garage and summer kitchen. Currently, they are living in difficult conditions.
