Help us build a home for the Anatoliy

Anatoliy's Story

Anatoliy Primak, 70, was married to his wife for 45 years. They both lived and worked in Kyiv. She drove a trolly and he worked in a factory.

In 2000, the Primak’s moved to the small village of Pochepyn where they would retire. Anatoliy took a job in the village school.

But when his wife had a stroke, he stopped working to take care of her full-time the best he could. She was paralyzed for 3 years. Although her strength was never the same, the Primak’s lived a happy and peaceful life on their land. They had a garden where they grew their own food and they had a supportive village.

February 24, 2022, the war began and the village of Pochepyn was directly in the path of the Russian army’s march to Kyiv. The Primak’s did not want to leave their land and stayed until the Russian army was 3 miles away.

The Primak home was destroyed after they evacuated. The stress of the war and losing their home was too much for his wife and she died.

Currently, Anatoliy lives in a plastic shed on his property. He will not leave his land because it is the place he is closest to his wife. We can restore a home and dignity to this man who has suffered so much.
