Their Family Story

Evgenii and Elena, daughter Katya (10 years old), and son Igor (13 years old) are from Irpin. Eugene is a surgeon, and he works in a hospital in Bucha. Until March 8, he was in the hospital and operated on the wounded. He saw terrible things those days. On March 8, the hospital was evacuated.

Now the family lives with Evgenii’s mother. They had a big house for two families: their family and the family of Elena’s brother Nikolai Brzhezynski. The parents of Elena and Nikolai had been building this house for 16 years; it was destroyed in just one night. They dreamed that their children and their families would live nearby. Their parents died a year before the war.

 

Now Elena bitterly says that no matter how terrible it sounds, she is glad that her parents did not see what is happening now. The house is destroyed. The family decided, by all means, to restore their home.
