To Ukraine With Love

The Husak Family

will stay on their land while they rebuild their lives

No Place Like Home

Alexander Petrovich and Natalya Matveevna Husak will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023 and they would love to be back in a home before then.

Before the war, the Husak family had a very nice house which they started building in 1989: “We have been building this house all our lives and investing all our efforts and money in it.” Now that they are retired, there is little chance that they can rebuild what took decades to build.

Both Alexander and Natalya miraculously escaped during the battle.

Now they live with their son in an apartment. The couple’s son works as a sound engineer in the well-known Ukrainian group TNMK (Tanok on Maidan Congo). In the first days of the war, their son signed up as a civil defender. TNMK decided to tour Europe and raise money for the needs of the Army.

My name is Berkeley Shelton. My mom lived in Ukraine for 18 months and became very close to the people she met there. As a result, for as long as I can remember, I have been close with many Ukrainians. They are my friends, and my heart is broken from watching how much the people I love are suffering.

When I found out that Russia had attacked Ukraine, I wanted to do something to help. As a result of the war, many homes have been destroyed. There are families that are in need of a place to live. Winter is fast approaching. It’s getting cold, and time is running out for these people to find homes.

I’m working together with the nonprofit organization, To Ukraine With Love, to raise money to help build a home for a family that has lost theirs. My goal is to earn $16,000 for a 1 bedroom modular home, made by a Ukrainian manufacturing company for the Husak family.  The modular home will connect to the original house’s gas line and plumbing. After the family is able to rebuild their house, the modular home can be moved to a new location for another family to use. These homes not only help to give homeless Ukrainian families a place lo live, but they keep Ukrainian manufacturing companies in business and give Ukrainian people jobs.

We will build a home for Husak Family thanks to Berkley Shelton.

    Every Dollar Goes to Ukraine

At ToUkraineWithLove.org, we reach out to our network of real Ukrainians on the ground and ask what they need. And then we work to fill those needs as quickly as possible. Every penny of your donation helps get supplies into the hands of everyday Ukrainians and their defenders.
