Help Oleksiy and Yevdokiia Siedykh Find a permanent home at "Our People" Senior Center

Their Story

Oleksiy (74) and Yevdokiia (69) spent their retirement in the small settlement of Dvorichna, tending to their home and enjoying their family. But on February 24, 2022, everything changed. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, their settlement fell under occupation.

There was no electricity, no gas, no food supplies. Fear ruled every moment. They longed to leave, but it was both dangerous and impossible without money. Only after the region was liberated could volunteers finally evacuate them to temporary shelter in Kharkiv. When they returned later, they found their home destroyed. The place they had worked for all their lives no longer existed.

Now, they rent housing, but rising costs make it impossible to manage. Their daughter and grandchildren are also displaced, their home destroyed as well. Oleksiy and Yevdokiia feel the heavy weight of uncertainty — elderly, weary, and carrying the grief of losing not just their house, but the life they had built together.
