Hello, my name is Veronica, I am 15 years old, I am studying at school, finishing the 10th grade. I am Ukrainian and live in Kyiv.

Being Ukrainian is not just belonging to a certain nationality, it is much more. It is having a spiritual connection with your land, with the history and culture of your people. When I think about my nation, it is our rich history that comes to mind. Our people are rich in heroic deeds and tragic events. Figures such as Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Taras Shevchenko, and Lesya Ukrainka made a huge contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and national self-awareness. I am proud of our independent Ukraine.

Culture is another outstanding feature of Ukrainians. Literature and folk customs have their own unique features. Every ritual and holiday in Ukraine carries the spirit of compassion and insight.

At school, I really like physical education, defense of Ukraine, computer science, and math lessons. Our lessons are held both online and offline, but of course, I like going to school more because of the communication with classmates. We are a very friendly class.

I have a lot of hobbies. I like to cook, especially bake cookies; they always turn out delicious. We had Thanksgiving in English class, and I made cookies in the shape of a heart. Everyone really liked them. I love cats—I have two cats at home, their names are Margo and Felya. They are very cute, and I love them very much. I also really like to dance because I am in a group of dancers. We used to go on tours to different countries like Bulgaria, Austria, and Slovakia.

In 2022, our war began. It was very scary, especially when the rockets fell. When we were hiding in a bomb shelter, I wanted this war to end quickly and for us to win. After all, I am for peace throughout the world.
