The Yaschenko Family

Lyudmila Grygorivna Yashchenko, a 62-year-old pensioner, along with her daughter, Veronica Ihorivna, 39, a marketer currently on maternity leave, and her son-in-law, Alexander Valeriyovych, 42, an IT specialist, faced the impact of the war while residing in Chernihiv. Lyudmila’s daughter and grandchildren now live in an apartment in Chernihiv, originally owned by Lyudmila’s mother.

Their family home, which stood for 30 years, became a casualty of war. The heartbreaking news of its destruction reached them on March 11, a direct hit leaving it in ruins. Currently, they reside in an apartment in Chernihiv. Despite the challenges, they hold onto the hope of rebuilding their lives in the house they once called home. In the face of adversity, the family remains united and determined to create a new beginning together.
