stay on their land while they rebuild their lives
Their Family Story
Victoria and Pavel have three sons: Vladimir, who is 28, and twins Gleb and Bogdan, who are 12 each. On March 4, the family left for the Volyn region. Pavel did not go with his wife and children, as he stayed to help the military and look after his old mother. Pavel’s mother died of a heart attack during another heavy shelling. She lived in another house. Pavel buried her in the courtyard of her house because there was no way to get to the cemetery. After the liberation of Irpen, the family reburied the body of Pavel’s mother in the cemetery. After his mother’s funeral, Pavel agreed to leave Irpin. The family saw photos of their street in the news and knew their house was no longer there. The family returned to Irpin; now, they live in the house of Pavel’s late mother. The house is small: only two rooms. Pavel’s brother lives in one room, and Pavel’s entire family of 5 people lives in the second. Pavel had a tiny piece of land with not enough room to build a modular house. However, there is enough room near his mother’s house that belongs to Pavel, and you can build a house on that land. The family dreams of a home so their sons can sleep in their beds and do their homework at the table in comfort.
