Nik Grachov 16, male from Kharkiv

I am Nikita Hrachov, from Ukraine. Since I was born in 2007, currently I have 16 years of backstory. Of course I couldn’t fit all this in one document, but I want to tell you a little about myself.

As I said, I was born in 2007, if more precisely – November 21. My family always said I was very talkative since the day I was born, and only my brothers, Dmitry and Dan could stand my never-ending speech. This trait, though, game me an advantage when I gone to kindergarten, as I could easily make new friends or find common topics to discuss even with complete strangers, and I think I still have this skill even today.
In school I liked Biology, English, Math, Art and PE. Soon, I realized school program PE and English wouldn’t be enough for me, so I took additional classes for English and took part in gymnastic trainings. By the day I left training, I had 9 years of experience, when I took part in competitions and gone to summer camps with my team.

Meanwhile, in 2014 war in Ukraine began, and our family couldn’t stay aside. We always helped and helped people taking part in charity events. We collected different items for recycling in prostheses and implants for injured people. We donated clothes and food for refuges and assisted in humanitarian aid giveaway.

But since 2022, our life changed significantly. I had to quit gymnastics and go on remote learning, but most importantly, I had to make more for people in need. Me personally, and my family helped making camo nets, delivering aid and donated to army.

As of now, I still learn English and workout on daily basis. I love playing videogames and taking walks on the street. I am very creative and sometimes, using my computer skills, I spend my free time making pictures or videos in different editors.

I love writing different things, and I think I have a gift for writing backstories. I often write backstories of fictional character for games I play, with they own traits, story, motives and behavior.

I enjoy traveling, and before 2022, our family had a lot of vacations in different parts of our planet. I often served as a translator for my parents, which gave me a chance to use my language skills and learn about other people’s way of life.

I always look forward for various opportunities, especially if it is a new experience, or a glimpse into a different way of living.
