Nina and Nadiya Polonska
stay on their land while they rebuild their lives
No Place Like Home
Nina Polonska lives with and cares for her mother-in-law Nadiya in Irpin. Nadiya is unable to walk and must lie down all day. She constantly cries because one of the hardest things for her is that she lived her whole life in the same house—the house she and her husband and son built with their own hands and that has been destroyed—and now she will have to die in someone else’s house.
Nina’s husband has passed away and she does her best to take care of her mother-in-law, whom loves her very much. Currently, the women live with Nina’s daughter-in-law, but her house is very small and is especially inadequate for someone who needs as much care as Nadiya.
The women are suffering quite a lot and they really need a place of their own—where they can live more comfortably and Nina can take better care of her dear mother-in-law while they try to rebuild their lives.
