Berezhna Nina Needs A Home

Nina, age 74, worked as a secretary, helping people with documents. Nina and her late husband spent their lives collecting funds to build their house so they could be comfortable when they retired. When shelling began in her village, Nina welcomed her neighbors to hide with her in her cellar because most of them didn’t have cellars that were deep enough. On February 24, 2022 her house was damaged by shelling. Nina stayed in her damaged house until April when her son came to pick her up. She packed some belongings and brought her two dogs. A neighbor called her not long after she left to say that her house had been completely destroyed. She is currently living nearby in a dormitory in Saltivka and takes public transportation every day to visit her land so she can work in her garden.
