Galina Savchenko
Received A Home

To stay on their land while they rebuild their lives

Family Story

Galina Vladimirovna Savchenko, 79 years old, initially stayed at home, but then the Russians came and frightened her. She hid in the garage and later went to the neighbor’s basement with her cat. She left in the middle of March and helped the village elder to leave when half of the village was burning. She went to the Zhytomyr region. She didn’t know for a long time that her house was no longer there. Even the neighbors didn’t tell her, although Galina asked everyone. But eventually, some neighbors did inform her. Galina has a son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her husband passed away before the war, and she is now alone. Her son is in the military, and his house was also destroyed. He is currently in the hospital, injured.
