Ulyana Bocharnikova 15, female from Kharkiv

Hello everyone, I’m Ulyana Bocharnikova, I am 15 years old, now I in 10th grade. I am quite a versatile person, in my childhood engaged in traditional Ukrainian dances, and there were drawing classes. But because of the war I had to finish these classes. Now I like drawing, practicing singing even if I don’t do it professionally. I like to learn new languages English, Spanish, French and German. Also I love to watch movies and TV series. And reading books is my favorite hobby too. Dancing and swimming brings me pleasure and keeps my body healthy.

This trip will help me to improve my English in all categories, most importantly speaking because I can practise speaking with native speakers, listening, reading and writing. I am sure that I will meet incredible people with whom I will be friends.

I am very often and a lot involved in charity projects. For example, my family and I buy food for homeless animals who unfortunately live on the streets. Or for example, I help Ukrainian teenagers online by giving conversations in English about their emotional state. I also help a charity organization that helps to improve their skills in a foreign language, I am really happy and glad that I can help Ukrainians who need help in learning. I don’t have any siblings, I’m an only child. But I can tell you about my parents.

My mom is a veterinarian, and she chose this profession because she loves animals very much. Dad works as a telecommunicator, traveling to different cities of Ukraine, and establishing communication so that Ukrainians from different countries could communicate with relatives who stayed at home. Also we have pets, the oldest cat is Kalina, she is 10 years old, also we have a cat Mityusha, he is youngest. And we have a dog named Black. Unfortunately when I was 13, the war started and I had to learn a lot of new things. Life has changed but I believe that everything will be fine in the future!
