Yurii Bushak 11, male from Chernihiv

Hello, my name is Yura, I’m 11 years old. I live in Voznesenske. This is a small village near Chernihiv. I like to swim, do sports, ride a bike, hang out with my friends and play computer games. At school, I like math and English. In my free time i like to read books and meeting friends to ride bikes. I live with my parents, my brother and sister. My sister Alisa 3 years and brother Borislav 5 years go to preschool, I help them with their lessons.I help my parents wash the dishes and clean my room.In the evening, we drink tea and talk about how the day went. Вefore the war, I used to go for a walk in the forest with my parents, now we can’t do that. Before the war, I used to swim in the pool, now the pools in our town do not work, so I am waiting for summer to swim in the lake.I have a cat, rabbits and chickens. Together with my mother Tetiana, we prepare various delicacies for our family and friends. In the summer, I go to the Blue Lakes with my parents. There is very beautiful nature: pine trees, many berries and mushrooms. My sister and brother and I swim in the lake almost all day. In winter, my family and I go sledding.

In the USA, I would like to know English better, to learn the customs of people living in America, to meet new people.

Each of us heard explosions, sirens, saw the consequences of war, saw tears and despair. We live in constant fear and anxiety. No person deserves such a fate. Now my biggest dream is to end the war in our country. I dream that every child can enjoy childhood. I wish our parents didn’t have to worry about our safety so that everyone could sleep peacefully at night.
