The Manin Family
Alexander Fedorovych, age 78, Stanislav Alexandrovych, age 53, Railway worker, Lyudmila Anatolyevna, age 52, Bookkeeper at a bakery, and Igor (son), age 34, general laborer.
After waking up to loud explosions on February 24, 2022, a fear settled over the family that lasted for long hours, weeks, and months. The war had come into their lives, on their land, in their country. They were forced to seek shelter in their cellar. Then tanks passed by their village, instilling constant fear and anxiety. The Russians started shooting in the direction of the cellar, shelling it periodically. The grandfather stayed in the cellar the entire time. He left the village only for one week when there were terrible shellings, and the young family went to the bomb shelter of the hostel. Later, Lyudmila left for western Ukraine, and the men remained. On March 14, 2022 the house was destroyed by a rocket. The grandfather was covered by an explosive wave, and the house began to burn. The grandfather courageously fought the fire, risking his own life to save what was possible. Unfortunately, he also caught fire but was able to save himself by throwing off his burning clothes. The grandfather currently spends nights in poor conditions in a modular town, and during the day he is constantly doing something on his plot of land. Ludmila and her family live in a dormitory, dreaming of the days when they will be able to return to their home again to restore everything as it once was.
