Ovodov Family Needs A Home

Help us build a home for the Ovodov family this winter.

The Ovodov Family

Natalya Anatolyevna Ovodova, 42 years old, cancer patient. Oleksiy Mykolaiovych Domchenko (husband), 49 years old, builder. Volodymyr (son), 12 years old. Lydia Volodymyrivna Ovodova (mother), 63 years old.

On February 24, 2022 the family woke up to loud explosions and realized that the war had begun. The family immediately decided that they would not leave Ukraine because this is their home. However, due to the terrible hostilities of the Russian occupation, they were forced to evacuate their home without any belongings. Remaining in a bomb shelter in the village, Lydia witnessed the most horrifying moments of the hostilities. She experienced terrible trials that left a painful mark on her soul. After that, she could not even speak normally…

On March 9, as a result of a direct hit by a rocket, their house was destroyed. The family will remember this day forever, the day they were left with nothing. When the Russian occupation ended, Oleksiy returned to the village to the site of their house and joined a group of volunteers who were clearing the rubble. Later Natalya and her son returned. Currently, everyone lives in a modular town. Before the war, the family had 3 dogs with titles, they bred them. During the occupation, 2 dogs were shot by the Russians, but one miraculously survived. She lives in an aviary and the family constantly takes care of her, visits her, and walks her. Everyone dreams of rebuilding and again doing what they love.
