The Uzkyi Family
Anatoliy Volodymyrovych Uzkyi, 59, a retiree, and Halyna Semenivna, 85, also a retiree, were both at home when the war started. Anatoliy was wounded by a bullet in the head and remained hospitalized. His mother was hiding in the cellar when their home was destroyed. When Anatoliy returned home from the hospital, he found it gone. Due to the trauma, he now stutters and struggles to articulate thoughts coherently. Currently, they live in an apartment provided by fellow villagers.
