Help Build A House For Yarema Family

The Yarema Family Story

The Yarema Family had their family home in the village of Moschun. Tatyana, 49 years old, has lived in the village since birth and inherited their home from her parents. She works as a cook in a supermarket and her 14-year-old son, Artyem, studies at school. As a single mother, Tatyana manages the home and garden nearby. In Tatyana’s words: “On February 24, I was at home with my son when I saw dozens of helicopters flying and something loudly buzzing nearby. I realized that war had come… my son and I ran to hide in our cellar, and later sheltered in the neighbors’ cellar. Every day it became more and more difficult and scary to live in the village, so Tatyana decided to evacuate first to Kyiv to relatives, then to Western Ukraine to a shelter. While there, she found out that her family house had been destroyed and she no longer had a home. She did not want to believe it. She dreams of having a home and garden on her family’s land again.
